My new running shoes came while we were at the movies this evening. I put them on as soon as I got the box undone and they are SO freaking comfortable, except where they’re pressing against a small rubbed-sore spot on the top of my right foot from my black sandals which are either too tight or not tight enough, I’m not sure. We went out after dinner to see “The House With The Clock In Its Walls” which, without spoiling it, I’ll just say is REALLY freaking good. I’m not usually a fan of anything Jack Black has ever done, but I really, REALLY liked him in this. He and Cate Blanchett have some amazing on screen chemistry.
The shoes I got were some Chinese off brand called Qixing, but the reviews on Amazon were good and they weren’t terribly expensive as running shoes go. They are so comfy that I can’t wait to wear them running tomorrow evening after dinner. They’re also half a size bigger than I would normally wear, but that’s because I think (in tennis shoes at least) I’ve been wearing the wrong damn size ever since my son was born and my feet stretched out from the pregnancy. My last pair of shoes, my toes were definitely bumping against the front of the shoe, but it didn’t bother me too much so I kind of just ignored it. These have PLENTY of room at the front without feeling like they’re too big, which is what I was afraid of. I bet when I run they’ll feel AMAZING.
